When you use a bark collar on a dog, no
excessive barking will occur. This is the premise behind the idea of the
anti barking dog collar. It is a training tool that you can use to reduce
excessive barking in your dog. It is usually a quick fix if you need a
solution to the dog’s barking in a hurry because of complaints from the
neighbors and the city council sending you a barking dog letter. You can
choose from three varieties of collars, but only two of them are
considered humane. The shock collar that gives the dog a shock is not
really recommended only in extreme cases.
Along with using a bark collar, the dog should recognize the word “No”. If
you use ons of the other two types of collars, you should always say the
word no when the mechanism activates. One collar delivers a high - pitched
sound to the dog’s ears when it barks and the other collar startles it
with a spray of citronella. Both of these collars do work as training
aids, If you say the word “No’, just as the spray or sound appears the dog
will also associate the word “No” with not being allowed to bark. After a
while you won’t have to use the bark collar at all.
In addition to the bark collar, a no bark zone can be established around
your house with a similar device that you install outside. You can attach
this device to a wall or a fence and plug it into an outlet. When a dog
barks within 25 feet on either side of the device, it emits the same type
of sound as the bark collar. Again, when you are there if you say the word
“No”, the dog will learn not to bark out around the door and this will
leave you with satisfied neighbors.
