Barking Bite Dog Sound
***
Most people associate a dog barking with a
bite from a dog because of the sound. Some people who have been bitten by
a dog in the past have come to be afraid of all dogs, but barking dogs
more so than those that do not bark very much. Although people do say that
a barking dog will never bite, the sound of the bark is often enough to
send someone who is afraid of dogs running in the opposite direction. Dogs
can sense fear in a person and this will only cause the dog to join in the
chase. Dogs also think that when a person runs away from them, they want
to play and are actually barking with happiness.
However, if you have a dog that barks a lot and scares many of the people
in the neighborhood, you will have to take steps to try to reduce the
barking. There are some basic training techniques that you can use when
others fear the barking is a sign of a bite from the dog because of the
harsh sound, especially if it is a big dog. You have to assert yourself as
the leader so the dog will know that you are serious when you give the
command to be quiet. You do need to praise the dog when it stops barking
or when it just lying quietly. You need to use a firm quiet voice when you
want the dog to listen to you.
You do have to be sure not to counter any training by inadvertently
rewarding the dog for barking. A bite of food or a teat will make the dog
think he hs to make a barking sound whenever he wants a treat and this
could lead to excessive barking when you are not around or when you ignore
him.
