Barking Cure Dog
***
There is no one barking cure for a dog
because all dog’s react differently to different stimuli and bark for
different reasons. An owner has to determine what triggers the dog’s
barking and take steps to reduce or eliminate these triggers. It is normal
for a dog to bark and unrealistic to expect to cure the dog of barking at
all. What is needed is to cure the dog of excessive barking that is
annoying to owners and neighbors.
One barking cure for a dog that barks everytime someone comes to the door
is to train the dog to stop barking after two or three barks. This
requires the owner to train the dog to respond to commands, such as
“Quiet” so that the barking stops. Dogs like to alert their owners when
they perceive that there is danger, so dog owners don’t want to eliminate
all barking. If the dog barks at other dogs, while this is natural, it is
easy to solve the problem by keeping the dog away from other dogs. This is
sometimes hard to do if there is other dogs in the neighborhood that bark
because when one dog barks, the others will bark also.
Owners have to make sure that the dogs are healthy and happy. Giving them
plenty of exercise and bringing them for walks helps to tire them out so
that they sleep instead of bark. Some dogs bark because they are bored or
lonely and often having toys that they can chew on solves the barking
problem. Some other forms of a barking cure for a dog are the barking
collars that either emit a high frequency sound, a shock or a spray of
citronella in response to the bark have also been found effective.
