There is nothing like a barking dog effects for a sound to scare off would-be intruders. But the sound of a barking dog can also be very annoying, especially if you are very tired and are trying to sleep. Barking is natural for dogs and there is often a reason behind excessive barking. If your dog is used to having company, it may start barking when it is alone. This is called separation anxiety and there are ways you can reduce the barking dog effect to sound quiet to your neighbors. If the dog is used to hearing you talk during the day, a recording of your voice may ease the problem. Having lots of toys for the dog to play with also occupies the dog’s attention and keeps it from barking for long periods of time.
