Barking Dog Kennel

***

If you ever visit an animal shelter, you will have to get used to the sound of a barking dog. A kennel environment with many dogs all barking for attention or at each other is a very noisy place. If you get a dog from such a place, the dog may be used to barking and it may be the reason that the original owners were not able to keep the dog. You will have to have a lot of patience in training the dog to bark less and less often. If training doesn’t work, you can purchase a device to control the barking dog. A kennel silencer is one such device that emits a high frequency sound every time the dog barks. This is perfectly safe for the animal and the sound is inaudible to humans.

For a barking dog, the kennel silencer’s tone interrupts the bark. It is a very easy way to control excessive barking because as soon as the dog barks within 25 feet of the system, it automatically triggers the tone. It does this because the dog immediately becomes aware of the signal and stops barking. After a while, the dog will learn that this tone will sound as soon as he/she starts to bark. Another type of kennel silencer sprays the dog with water whenever he/she starts to bark. When the dog gets wet, the first response is to retreat to the doghouse to dry off and so stops barking immediately.

Some dog owners have a kennel in their homes to use as a deterrent to the dog barking whenever another person comes to the home. As soon as the dog starts to bark, the owner leads the dog to the kennel and leaves it in there for a while. It may take several trips to the kennel before the dog realizes that this is a form of punishment for barking and doesn’t bark when visitors come to your home.
