Barking Dog No

***

When some people hear a barking dog, no amount of telling them that there is nothing to worry about will ease their fear. There are people who have such a fear of dogs that they run at the first sound of a barking dog even if there is no dog in sight. They feel that they are about to be attacked and will automatically try to get away. Owners who have a dog that barks a lot often use the word “No” to try to train them not to bark or to stop after a short time.

Although there are many products to help an owner train a barking dog, no one product works for all dogs. This is because dogs bark for various reasons – boredom, danger, food, attention or loneliness. They have to first figure out why the dog is barking and then take the appropriate steps to try to control excessive barking. No one minds a few barks from a dog and expect dogs to bark because it is part of their nature. When a dog barks continually day and night and neighbors start complaining, then owners have to start looking for a method of bringing it to an end.

There are several dog collars that are designed to control a barking dog. No one wants to harm their dog, so owners naturally steer clear of the collars that deliver a shock to the dog. Other collars emit an unpleasant sound to the dog’s ears and others spray the dog with water or citronella. The citronella collars seem to be the most effective, but they are heavy for small dogs. In order to use a collar to train the dog, owners need to put the collar on for all sorts of occasions, when they intend to do training and when they don’t, so that the dog will not associate the collar with anything unpleasant.
